Served on-tap at Al's of Hampden.
A - Pours caramel brown with a thin film of white head leaving no lace down the glass. I will chalk this one up to a bad pour.
S - Smells of caramel, lightly toasted grains, and some bready yeast. It had a pretty good smell initially but it faded all too quickly, leaving very little behind.
T - Starts off with some lightly toasted grains quickly giving way to a mix of chewy malt and dulled sweetness. Fairly thin and tasteless initially getting a little better as it sits in the glass. Finish is kinda chewy with some light sweetness, fading quickly from the pallet.
M - Medium body and flavor with moderately low carbonation. Thin, slightly sweet feel that doesn't stick around for very long.
O - This one was ok. I liked the base flavors and I think it has the makings of a decent bock but it definitely needs some tweaks to bring it together.

A: The bock is dark, a deep caramel-chocolate brown that verges on blackness. Expecting a toasted cereal color, call me shocked. Not much head.
S: Toasted grains, the breadiness reaffirms that this is indeed a bockbier. That breadiness isn't plodding, nor is it lasting. Sniff it and, poof, it's gone. Another beer served too cold in America.
T: Darker, mildly toasted grains lead things off. As the bock warms, the rich breads take on added sweetness, light fruits coming with the yeast. The bock isn't anything fancy and, when cold, devoid of much of its flavor. I think that the beers are heading in the right direction.
M: A good bock, nothing glitzy going on here. The flavors don't linger with the oomph that a serious bock has.
