An English, full-bodied, copper colored ale, with a hint of hops and caramel that give it a malty flavor without being bitter.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass. Pours cloudy orange with a small white head. Smells of weak dark roasted grain. Tastes of darker grain with a tad sour tang. Beer is light bodied, but heavily carbonated, fairly easy drinking. Overall, an ok beer.

Visited their brewpub, but this one I bought in a six-pack. I got biscuit/cracker, a bit of dark toffee/burnt caramel in the aroma and taste. Medium bitterness, medium-light body. Nothing that special. So far, two of four of the six pack were sour. Not at all cool by any means. If I wanted sour beer (which I love), I would have sought it out.

I'm having trouble with the reviews and misclassification of this one. Does not at all strike me as and English IPA but more of an English mild ale. Sweet toffee malts and a very smooth drinkability predominate. Never reviewed here before, but this one deserves better IMHO! If you're expecting an IPA of any variety, I'd be disappointed too. Worth noting too that this was on tap at the brew pub and I've had bad bottle experiences from them with other offerings.

Pours light copper with a lasting head. Some lacing sticks.
The smell is of subtle floral/pine notes with some butterscotch.
The taste is of soft caramel, a hint of butterscotch some pine and something almost like plastic (for lack of a better word) in the finish.
Despite something slightly off with it that gives it the plastic-like notes, it's still easy to drink. It does have an "English" pale ale character.
