A rich, dark beer made with 4 varieties of malt: Minnesota 2-Row brewer’s malt, English malt, black malt, and roasted barley. The variety gives it a pleasant, coffee-like character in the finish. Hopped with Liberty and East Kent Goldings.

Appearance
Pours a not-so-black color with absolutely no head at all. Even in dim lighting you could see a red hue through the glass.
Aroma
A strong metallic smell with a slightly sweet smell; much like a Dr. Pepper. None of the aromas that a stout should have were detected.
Taste
Mild hops, that's it. No roasted malt or any malt at all. Hops and water. Tastes more like strong tea.
Mouth feel
More carbonation than I've ever had in a beer, soda or otherwise. Extremely thin and watery.
Overall
This establishment lists 6 beers on their menu, but have discontinued all others except for this "stout." I would highly suggest that they discontinue this one as well.

Pours a dark black color. 3/4 inch head of an off-white color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of yeast, slight sweet malt, and grain. Fits the style of an American Stout. Mouth feel is smooth and crisp with an average carbonation level. Tastes of slight roasted malt, yeast, grain, and slight sweet malt. Overall, weak in body and aroma, but good drinkability.

A- Pours dark brown, almost black, with a creamy tan head. Doesn't look too bad.
S- Not much going on. Cheap grain with slight roast.
T- Fruity with faint coffee, mineral notes, light bitterness hits late.
M- One of the perks of the beer. Medium body, medium carbonation.
D- Better than their pilsner but still not very appetizing.

It was good looking Stout but it all really goes down here from there. It had a nice dark opaque body with about two fingers of dark tan head with good retainability. It also had tight tan lace. The smell was weak and sort of chemical with some fruit like esters and it smelled a lot like the Pils and tasted like it too which was odd because of the difference in styles. The taste was about the same as the aroma it was weak and strange tasting. There was a little bit of roasted malt taste but not much a lot of fruit esters. Mouth feel was medium. It is averagely drinkable beer it just doesn't remind me of Stout other than the color.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
