Copenhagen 4/5 2020. 37,5 cl bottle from Best of Beers web-shop. As Bøgedal no. 644 Old Ale. Bøgedals usual design with careful details about the beer.
Pours opaque, dark brown with a big, bubbly yet dense head. Settles as thin but consistent layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. No lacing.
Aroma is fairly intense, dark, sweet and with a touch of leather. Sweet dark fruits, chocolate, earthy sweetness, light smoke, musk and a light, tart touch of citrus.
Medium strong carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a more moderate tart bitterness. Aftertaste has a stronger bitterness but with a sweet undercurrent. Lingers for a while.
Dark and intense beer combining the tart, the smoky and the sweet.
