I haven't had this much peat on a beverage since the last time I tried Ardbeg (it's a single malt, FYI). This started off as mellow and quickly the peat came in, smacked the junk out of my palate, and showed me who's boss. This is yet another style that I am rarely impressed by. Or maybe it's that I just don't see too many examples of it. Who cares. This beer is nice, real niiiice.
