Had on tap today at Beveridge Place.
Bing is dark reddish brown, with a modest head, and a lot of lacing that hangs around. The aroma is spicy but pretty subdued. The taste is malty, spicy, leathery. There's some cocoa in there, which I hadn't remembered from before. Whether you call this an old ale or a winter warmer, it's a solid beer.
I've had Bing several times over the years, usually at the Magnuson Park winter beer festival, where it was a regular offering from Naked City. I always enjoyed it, so I had to have it one last time when I spotted it in the Beveridge Place lineup.
Now Naked City is going away, alas. R.I.P. Naked City, and R.I.P. Bing. We will miss you.

On draught at their taphouse, served in a small chalice, Bing is dark brown with a small light tan head that leaves very light, scattered lace.
Smell is mulling spices and cherry, very pleasant as it opens.
Taste is pretty good, after I let it warm to almost room temp. I had it when served cold, and set aside while I had some saisons, and it drastically improved. The cherry ekes out a bit more, as does the malt, but the spices are still pretty strong for my taste, and overall, I prefer the smell.
Mouthfeel isn't too thick, in spite of being a big (9.5% ABV this year) fruity old ale, the dryness of the alcohol helps cut it I think, but for the style, I'd like it a bit more luscious.
Drinkability pretty good, once it warmed up, it was a nice spicy old ale, but still could use a little more depth for my taste - not as malty as it looks, or as fruity as it smells, the spices give it an astringent character, but the alcohol is fairly well hidden.

This old ale re-fermented with cherries and spices was perhaps my favorite of Naked City's offerings at their beer release party. The cherries are added after fermentation. The spices include star anise, clove, and cinnamon. My call is that there's far too much anise here. It completely dominates everything. The good news is that the alcohol is effectively integrated, which for a beer this size is a merit. A few notes of licorice drift along, but the cherries are obscure.
Bing is black with brown and red shadows. Though the base recipe emulates an English old ale, it can best be described as a spice beer. In that sense it works well as a winter seasonal or holiday ale.
