Poured near-black into a schooner glass with a thin film of khaki head. Roasty aroma with hints of coffee.
Moderate carbonation and a relatively light but creamy mouthfeel. Mild cocoa sweetness and dry smoke up front with some gentle coffee bitterness and more smoke on the finish.
Very nice balance of roasty, sweet, and bitter flavors. Solid and easy-drinking.

This beer is made with 60% smoked malt. Served in straight pint glass. Poured a nice deep brown color, with a very slight reddish tint, with about a half-inch of tan head that relatively low retention and OK lacing.
The aroma was very pleasant, the smoked malt malts being predominant and the regular malts adding a nice earthiness. The flavors were also a nice blend of the smoked and regular malts.
The body was a bit lighter than I look for in this style. Drinkability was decent for a smoked beer, your taste buds don't get burned out. Overall, a nice little brew that's worth a shot if you see it.
