This is an IPA brewed with only Soriachi Ace (sp?) hops. Served in straight pint glass. Poured a clean, clear light gold color with about an inch of bright white head that had OK retention and moderate lacing.
The aroma had a strong spicy scent that I think is what sets this hop apart. There was a hint of grassy grain in the background. This beer had a very distinct flavor, sharp, crisp and unique and had a bit of a sticky, lingering finish. Again, just a bit of grainy malt was in the background of the brew.
The body was a bit thinner than I look for in an IPA, but perhaps they had to tone down the malts to let this particular hop shine through. Drinkability will depend on how you like this hop. I found it different and unique, but I'll have to wait and see what I think after a couple more pints.
Overall, an interesting brew. I'm not sure if this is a one-off or if it will pop back up later (that may depend on the beers reception), so it's worth going out of your way to try as soon as you can.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
