Draft at the brewpub in Seattle.
Pours a hazy golden orange color with a one finger white head that slowly settles into a lasting ring. Sporadic spots of lace left behind.
Sweet, grainy aroma with lots of corn and a delicate floral hop presence. There's also a light fruit presence with some apple and apricot. Has characteristics of a malt liquor but the hop and light fruit notes improve the aroma.
Surprisingly hop forward with some sweet citrus, lighter fruit notes and some nice dry bitterness that's followed by a pale malt backbone. Sweet grainy notes are subtle and surprisingly only evident toward the finish. Sweet corn/adjunct notes are kept in check. Dry finish.

Served in straight pint glass. Poured a fairly typical medium golden yellow with just a thin cap of white head that had no retention or lacing.
The aroma was mostly malts with some grain in the background, and a noticeable alcohol scent. The flavors featured the expected grainy malts, a barely noticeable amount of hops and an alcohol blast. The beer was a little on the sweet side and had a sticky finish.
The body was about what you expect from the style, on the thin side, but fairly even and relatively smooth. The beer was dangerously drinkable, having a few pints of it could lead to issues the next day. Overall, a nice example of the style. i wouldn't buy a 40 of malt liquor from the quickee mart, but I'd drink a couple of these on tap. Worth trying if you see it.
