A possible one-off for a brewers night at a local bar, but a beer that could just as easily be made again. The standard Podunk was dry-hooped in the cask with Simcoe hops. The typical orange amber color remained and the head was the expected loose formation of big bubbles that dissipated quickly and left no lacing.
The aroma was a hop delight, lots of big bright hops over a nice malt base. The taste was very hoppy as expected, but the malt provided enough balance that several pints went down easily without tiring the tastebuds.
The body was smooth and even with a semi-dry finish. Drinkability was excellent, as noted by my having several. Overall, if you happen to see this at the brewery or an event it is clearly a must try.
