"The Kentucky Dude" - The Big Lebrewski aged 10 months in Heaven Hill barrels. Graciously sent to me as a 22oz hand bottle from a PNW BA who thought I would get a kick out of it given my BA "persona".
A - Blacker than I expected with the "white russian imperial" thing, expected more of a mocha and got pitch black. Soft tan head, minimal. Sticky, wonderful legs on this one.
S - Kahlua, chocolate, some booze evident, slight tinge of something else....dark fruit? Small whispers of anise somewhere as well.
T - They nailed what they were after hear, a tad boozy at first but as it warmed it melted into a wonderful chocolate/Kahlua/oaky treat. Wood notes came on strong at the end. Really did taste like a kicked up White Russian....made with bourbon instead of vodka.
M - Despite the stickiness which I liked it was a tad thinner than I expected and for the style.
O - Quite frankly I am not sure how you could do a BA White Russian stout any better. They hit the mark and kudos for that, would definitely stop in if in the area as if this is representative of their offerings I think they are a winner.
Thanks Paul, and thanks to the brewery for letting this happen at all!

Sample of this was courtesy of a very kind PNWerner. Hand bottled into a 22oz, poured into a snifter probably a little too cold. Thanks to him and to Scott for convincing me to come get a pour. This is the Big Lebrewski that has been aged for 10 months in Heaven Hill barrels.
A - Black, low tan head that quickly goes down to minimal lacing. Sticks well to the glass. Full lacing returns when sifted.
S - A lot like Kahlua. Creamy booze, subtle chocolate and a noticeable dark fruit. Very interesting and I think it really nails what they're trying to do.
T - Boozy dark fruit, creaminess that is reminiscent of Kahlua, a little bit of chocolate and a little more dark fruit, then Kahlua towards the end. Then a good amount of wood shows up for the end.
M - Medium...lacking a little bit.
O - The aroma and parts of the flavor are certainly a lot like a White Russian. Boozy for the style, likely from the Kahlua that has apparently been included. Really a lot like dropping some Kahlua into a lighter BA stout.
