Served in straight pint glass. Poured a clean, clear pale yellow color, with just a thin cap of white head that low retention and lacing.
The distinctive Sorachi Ace hop dominated the nose, crisp and citrusy, over a mild malt base. The flavor profile was nearly identical, smooth, light even malts providing a nice base for the those Sorachi hops. I like the hop, I just always have trouble describing the flavors. if you like Sorachi, you will love this brew.
While the body was definitely on the thin side for the style it worked well for this brew. The body was nicely clean, and pleasantly dry finish. Drinkability was good (I had 3 while telling stories with friends after visitation hours for a recently deceased comrade, Cheers Mike R!), and I will certainly have more while it's available. Overall, a pretty good brew, certainly worth trying if you see it, and if you live in, or near, Seattle, worth a trip over to NC for.
