Served in straight pint glass. Poured a clean, clear amberish red color with a very thin cap of light tan head that had good retention and low lacing.
The aroma featured a malty scent that was a bit on the sweet side, and had some gentle hops in the background, and was pretty well balanced. The beer was better defined on the tongue, while the features stayed the same. Nice malts that sweet, but not too sweet, hops that offered a nice counter point, and a smooth, well balanced presence.
The body was very good, smooth, even, full without being heavy or sticky, and had a dry, hoppy finish. Drinkability was very good, my pint disappeared quickly, and I'm looking forward to another. Overall, a pretty good brew from the crew at NC. Certainly worth a shot if you see it.
