22oz. bomber
Appearance: Another beer that looks almost jet black, but when held up into the light is actually a dark ruby color. I just got a small amout of tan colored foam that left just a small amout of lace.
Smell: It had a typical Dopplebock smell: Malty, sweet caramel, and plenty of chocolate.
Taste: It was very malty with some chocolate and fruits in it. I could also taste some hops after all those malts.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied that was smooth with a strong malty aftertaste. You can feel that 8% alcohol content just a little.
Drinkability: A nice local Dopplebock, but there are much better Dopplebocks. If you can find it cheap, get it.

Nice dark, ruby body and frothy, beige head that dissipated to a thin, creamy sheet. Aroma of currants, strawberries, soy sauce, and crystal malt. Fruit, malt, and chocolate flavor. Absolutely zero hop profile. Decent fullness in the palate. Unusual, but good.

This beer is a dark amber/cola color with a thin beige head. Light lacing. Smoky aroma with malt and caramel. Medium body, with a strange earthy mix of sweet malt, caramel, chocolate and tart fruit. The finish is rather sweet. Overall this is a decent brew but is not up to snuff with the great Doppelbocks.

Unfortunately, I was pretty disappointed with this beer. For a doppelbock, this is pretty lightweight. It wasn't malty at all. It wasn't 'bad' per se, but there wasn't the depth I had expected in doppelbock. This is not a 'big' beer. There are many doppelbocks out there which are far better
