A one inch white head on a orange/amber beer. Decent head retention with above average lacing.

Faint floral aroma. Not much going on with the nose.

Different taste but definitely not bad. Pleasant noble hop bite at the tail end of each sip.

Medium mouthfeel, on the higher side carbonation.

Unique but not mind blowing. Shared on Thanksgiving with fdkayti and her fam. Thanks CaptCleveland for the extra!

from chuck’s in chagrin falls, consumed with paprika salumi and cypress grove midnight moon

a: bomber into a lager cylinder, the alt is a medium amber in color, capped with a layer off white head with average retention

s: very nice grassy, pulpy noble hop presence on a crisp pils body with a side of nutty toasted malt, a great lager nose - simple and balanced while offering plenty of interest

m: carbonation moderate with a crisp, light to moderate mouthfeel

t: a body of pilsner malt gives a crisp, clean base and toasted german malts offer toasty, nutty flavors with just a touch of sweetness, a generous noble hop addition provides flavors of fresh grass, hop pulp, and a clean, crisp bitterness to finish with a refreshing moderate acidity

o: described as a hoppy alt - and while it might be hopped up a touch from the standards of the style, everything sits in near perfect balance, highly drinkable and a great all around beer

Pours an oragnish copper color with a big thick pillowy head which leaves some rings of lace. There is also a lot of visible carbonation. The aroma is of herbs, floral notes, and a little bit of caramel. The taste has a big caramel backbone there is then a herbal taste with a hint of sweetness and at the end a slight hop bite. The mouthfeel is moderately carbonated. Overall it is a decent beer, it has a different taste and aroma is faint but good.

22oz bottle poured into a pint glass
A: Burnt orange color; one-finger head
S: Dried herbs, caramel.
T: Very herbal, with burnt caramel. I can tell hops are present, but they don't contribute much flavor-wise.
M: Bone dry. Agree with hoptometrist that it just sits there- isn't very lively or refreshing.
O: Interesting and unique but not my cup of tea.

A - Pours a slightly hazy copper, with a off-white soapy head that retains for a few minutes, but won't lace. It walks the side of the glass with each sip.

S - Mostly grassy notes. It has the faintest apple malt aroma once it warms up.

T - Nothing sweet on the palate, it tends to hit the back of the tongue with a hard bitterness, and once it warms up a bit some residual sourness. Again, apple malts, lots of bitterness like a quince. It is really unbalanced though, and this makes it less drinkable than it could be.

M - Good carbonation that is sharp all the way through. Thin. It would be refreshing if the beer had more brightness in flavor.

O - Not a bad brew, but a somewhat quirky interpretation of altbier as it lacks the sweetness. I can't help but compare it to a 'standby' in New Hampshire, Otter Creek Copper, and find it just a shade beneath that average Alt.

Served from the bottle into a mug

A- Poured a clear orange amber color with a two finger soapy head that dissipated quickly.

S- Herbal and earthy, caramel

T- Herbal and earthy flavors, lots of burnt caramel. There is a hop presence, but I would not call it hoppy, much more malty.

M- Thin with pretty high carbonation. Not very refreshing this beer just sits on the palate.

O- Not very impressed with this beer from Buckeye Brewing. Not very flavorful and the mouthfeel makes this not very drinkable. A forgettable beer.

Although I did not review it, I thik I had last year's version of this. This, I think, is better. It is a bold somewhat, over the top hoppy version of a German style. I like it,

The aroma is not over th top. Maybe the rest of the bottle will be when I get there. It almost feels like a well behaved APA. But a little maltier and just plain unique.

Nice. I would go for more, but this was the last 22 oz bottle in the store closest to me. Nice.
