this is wonderful and delicious beer from a brewery i had never heard of before this bomber came into my life. one of the better uses of coffee in awhile, just awesome. also one of the most flavorful and full bodied beers ive ever had under 5% abv, a real spectacle there. the color of this is nice, hersheys syrup in color with only a little less viscosity, but it somehow doesnt stick to the teeth, it actually finishes on the clean side. sweet coffee aroma, with notes of milk chocolate and raisins, as well as chocolate fudge and vanilla bean. its desserty, but its not as sweet in taste as it smells like it should be. the coffee really leads the way, different, like really good locally roasted espresso, super fresh and dynamic, the real essence of the bean, and the chocolate malt base they built for it is glorious. not a lick of acidity in here either, and just a tickle of carbonation propping it up. i definitely taste some vanilla on the back end of this too with the coffee, its got a vanilla latte complexion that i really like. i am not in search of any other beers from these guys. are they all this good? i was stunned by this, thanks to my brother for procuring it!

a friend picked up a bunch of there 22oz bottles up at the brewery. brought this out to split amongst friends. out of the fridge poured into a clear plastic cup. this is a stout made with locally roasted coffee, chocolate, and vanilla.

pours out a very dark black color, nearly opaque. looks like an imperial stout, impressive for a rather lighter ABV. just a thin dark mocha colored head that quickly faded to a thin ring. not much lacing.

in the nose, almost a lighter roasted malt, lactose, milk chocolate, with just hints of coffee beans and chocolate.

again, a nice lighter roasted malt taste. a nice bitter coffee flavor, maybe not as much as i would prefer however. slight hints of milk chocolate and vanilla.

slightly bitter roasted finish. a little watery feeling. light to medium bodied. lively carbonation, almost a little too much for the style IMO.

a solid offering from a very small almost unknown brewery. a little watery at times, but pretty impressive for 4.5%, exspecially the color. glad to see there expanding there line of beers and making some interesting stuff, a chile beer, a barleywine. i wouldnt go out of my way to get this, but if i crossed paths again, id definatly enjoy a pint.

Pours almost exactly like Coca-Cola, but a bit less carbonated- both in color and brief almost nonexistent head. Smell is toffee. Taste is chocolate mousse, toffee, and thick cola. Feel is a bit heavy on the carbonation than ideal, but not bad. Bought as a novelty on vacation, and don't regret it. Not anything out of this world, but a solid and sessionable stout.

L: Looks pitch black in the glass. An aggressive pour yielded a (perhaps over-carbed?) huge, four-finger head of mocha brown that died down after a few minutes, but left tons of tan lacing.

S: Rich, bittersweet dark chocolate. Baking cocoa. Tons of cacao nibs. Mocha. Burnt sugar. Musty oats. Espresso. Acrid, roasty coffee.

T: Bitter dark chocolate, cocoa powder, and oats upfront. In the middle, you get well-browned to burnt toast, caramel, burnt sugar, and hints of vanilla. On the finish, raisin and black licorice. In the aftertaste, lingering roasty bitterness of coffee beans and baking chocolate.

F: Mouthfeel is medium, almost medium-light. Well-carbonated, but not super creamy as is expected for an imperial stout brewed with oats.

O: A solid attempt at a complex imperial stout. If it were a little more sweet and little more well-executed, this could be amazing. Overall, a decent beer.

Keuka Local Mocha Stout has a mahogany body that allows a little but of light to pass through it at its edges, creating an amber color. The head is about a finger tall, but very thin and porous looking. The retention is OK, but it manages to leave behind a decent amount of lacing.

Local Mocha has a big aroma of burnt sugar, with coffee also competing for top billing. Roasted malt and a hint of dark fruit, particularly currants, round things out.

The hint of currant that I picked up in the aroma is really powerful in the flavor, although it leans more toward generic dark fruit than pure currants. Also, this flavor brings just a bit of sourness to the beer. The sourness is enough that I wonder whether this one has a bit of an infection problem to it; it's also entire possible that lacto was intentionally added by the brewer. I could see this one going either way, as the sourness seems to work with the beer fairly well. Next comes a bit of weak coffee flavor that is followed by roasted malt and a bit of caramel. The finish has some pine and a moderate amount of bitterness from American hops.

The mouthfeel has a very quick finish, and is quite thin and almost watery feeling.

I can't tell if this beer is a little bit off or if it is just a milk stout brewed with lacto. Either way, it's a little too sour for my taste, and I would call it decent at best.
