This is a beer made with the local black wheat (blé noir). Poured from 33cl bottle into tulip. Best by June 2010 on cap.
Brown/reddish liquid. When held up to light it looks ruby colored, quite clear. Generous tan head leaves little lacing, decent retention.
Not much aroma. Some woodsiness.
The flavor is pretty tame, all coming from the malt and grain flavors. Lightly toasted bread, hint of cocoa at first. Later there is a bit of a sour twang, or a peat-like character. Sweet finish, with a touch of lingering grain bitterness. No perceptible hop presence.
Light mouthfeel, very smooth.
Easy to drink, no alcohol presence or off aromas. A decent blé noir beer, if not particularly exciting.
