16oz can from shrubber85. Medium brown pour, small spirals of tiny bubbles. Aroma is toasted malts, nutty and sweet. Taste is more sweet notes, caramel, brown bread, apples. Pretty damn tasty.

I am tried a pint of this beer off the tapper at Connor's Kitchen and Bar in downtown Indanapolis whilst there for an Expo. It poured a clear amber with very little head that did not leave any lace. The scent had malt and bittering hop notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with crisp semi sweet malt base with grain and bold finish hop presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

APPEARANCE: Deep clean ruby. Nice thick khaki head. Virtually no lace.
NOSE: Fruit, malty sweet.
TASTE: Heavy body, rich and much more bold and dry than most amber ales. The toasty malts approach a brown ale, almost. Quite a tasty and surprisingly complex amber/red ale that re-energizes the style for me. Superb.

This is the fifth in a run-through of beers that came to me CANtesy of @jkblr for inCANsion in The CANQuest (tm). I remain grateful for the hook-ups!
From the CAN: "Ruby brings smooth and drinkable bliss to an increasingly bitter beer world. Deep amber with notes of toffee, caramel, and dark wildflower honey, Ruby tempts the senses with inviting chocolate aroma and a soft, supple finish."; "Equally at ease in lively conversation at the pub or quiet nights around a fire, Ruby is in a class of her own. We think you'll agree."; "Our ales are 100% unfiltered and best enjoyed fresh."; "Malts: Pale, Munich, Caramel, Black[;] Hops: Mt. Hood, Tettnanger"; "IBU 11 O.G. 15.0*".
Since they had identified it as being unfiltered, I Crack!ed open the vent & beCAN a slow, steady C-Line Glug into the awaiting glass. My efforts were highly successful, resulting in a pseudo-cascade that slowly settled into two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, deep-tan/light-brown head with excellent retention. Also, color was a gorgeous Coppery-Brown (SRM = > 17, < 22) with NE-quality clarity (takes a bow) & ruby/garnet highlights. 8=O Perfect! Nose was a throwback to the early (late-1980s) days of craft brewing. It seemed like every microbrewery & brewpub offered an Amber Ale & they were usually CANparatively sweet when measured against their CANtemporary CANterparts. I liked them well enough at the time, but when I hit upon hoppy AIPAs, I left everything else for others. 8=( To the point, nose had a definite caramel sweetness, almost to the point of the exclusion of all else. Fair dinkum in terms of Style. Mouthfeel was medium, but no great shakes. The taste held a sticky, cloying sweetness, definitely evocative of caramel & toffee. Man, it was definitely a throwback, but not my cuppa. Don't misunderCANd me - it was tasty enough & I certainly drank every drop, including a last pour to use up the lees, but I just was not digging it. Finish remained sweet, which speaks to truth in advertising. I just CAN't handle the truth, I guess. YMMV.

16oz can stamped 10:30 06/19/20 (3 months ago) poured into tulip pint glass at fridge temp 6% ABV 11 IBU 15° OG & unfiltered per can label. The beer pours bright reddish amber with mahogany highlights and light brown head. The head recedes to a thin ring and single layer of tiny bubbles. The aroma is mild with caramel, toasted bread and roasted nuts. The taste is semisweet toasted malt, toffee, slightly earthy with minimal bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation and a mostly dry finish. Overall, very good. This is a rich malt driven beer that stops just short of sweet.

Had on draft into logo tulip pint at Lennie’s/Bloomington Brewpub, Bloomington, where met the parents of Ruby, the beer’s namesake.
Ruby Bloom is a beautiful and nicely malty and fruity amber, with a just dry enough finish.
