Had at Lennie’s/Bloomington Brewpub, on draft into small taster glass, and then poured from waxed 22-oz. bomber, label stamped “BTLD 01 26 19,” into tumbler.
Oddly, the barrel-aged version of Krampus is prettier with better head retention, and of course the aroma gets a boost.
But best is the brewer’s judgment to leave it in the American White Oak Bourbon barrels for only a few months, so that the whiskey does not overwhelm but only supplements the subtle aromas and flavors of the standard version.
