Light and crisp and delicious. Clean finish. Cream ales are a uniquely American style.

16oz can. No dating information found.
Partly cloudy, pale gold colored body. Thin white head settles back to a thin cap and ring. A few tiny lacing dots are left behind.
Aroma is sweet corn malt, with a nutty expression. Slight touch of floral hops.
Taste is sweet grain, a dry yeast ester, and sweet hoppy fruits. Lingers as a dry sweetness in the aftertaste.
Medium mouth feel. Initially dry and this continues throughout. Okay carbonation.
Use as a table beer, as the brew should pair well with food.

Finally tried Kirkwood Cream Ale poured from pint can, bottom stamped, “PKG DATE 06/07/19,” into clear plastic beer cup, and had again at Lennie’s (now relocated) on Kirkwood, Bloomington, on draft into tulip pint.
A little fruit, smooth malt, and then a bit of a bite in the finish make Kirkwood Cream Ale an easy refreshing choice.
