Had Barrel Aged Ruby Bloom at Farm, Bloomington, on draft into pint tumbler.
Pours deep amber-brown, with minimal light-tan head, with good retention, but lace not observed. Aromas of funky fruit, definite but not overpowering whiskey, and nice continuing malt. Begins sweet and malty, then whiskey joins very nicely, with a little fruit before a drying yet still malty finish, and finally a hint of alcohol warmth and bite.
Barrel aging adds to OG Ruby Bloom a lot of whiskey to the aroma, nice whiskey in surprising balance with the malts to the taste, and a bit of bite and apparently some ABV boost in the finish.

A-deep brown, ruby on the edges one finger off white head
S-oak, caramel, very malty, some grapes
T-oak and slight grape noes Lots of malt, caramel and molasses. You can tell the wine did something but not much
M-lighter not much carbonation, velvety
O-A decent beer, the barrel imparted some flavors but not much. However the base beer maybe the real issue as it seemed like a regular malty red ale but with slight barrel notes.
