a really basic beer, hard to get too excited about this one, not sure what makes it irish either, i really dont get an appreciable irish yeast character from it, and im not sure what else it would be. this is pretty simple stuff, a little sweetness from the grain in the middle and a lightly bready yeast element, but not european to me. whats missing is the crispness, the cold conditioned snappy finish that i like in this style, this one just sort of slow fades at the end, not really being as refreshing, dry, or brisk as i prefer. the flavor isnt bad through, there just isnt a lot there, with an almost corn sort of character, a little biscuity malt, and hardly any hops at all, not even a bitterning note. its nice that the carbonation is as high as it is, and the body is nice and light, so this ends up feeling pretty summery. overall this was just okay for me, which has sort of been the standard from beaver creek in my limited experience with their beers. drinkable enough, but nothing special here.
