Got this at La Cave of Bottles in Paris, France.

From a 750 into a snifter
Vintage: 2011

Brewed in 2009 and aged 18 months before release in 2011

APPEARANCE: Pours flat but a trickling pour got me some white bubbles and a very slow, cascading effect ended in a faint wisp. Clear chestnut red, or maroon red perhaps, with no carbonation. Looks flat by the end.

SMELL: Big nose with lots of sweet malts, red fruits, berries, toffee and notes of butterscotch as well. Sweet cherries and raspberry notes as well. Very fruity and sweet with a touch of alcohol under there as well.

TASTE: Sweet red fruits with toffee and some booze up front. Lots of sweet flavor through the middle and into the swallow. Notes of toffee, butterscotch, sweet cherries, alcohol, and some decent hop bitterness as well. Bold and lingering finish is plenty flavorful, sweet, fruity, with some good bitter flavor as balance. Pretty nice.

PALATE: Medium body but flat, unfortunately. Sweet and syrupy, goes down slick and finishes somewhat sticky. A bit of burn and a some heat linger on the palate. Style lends itself to flat beer just fine, but a little bit of carbonation goes a long way.

OVERALL: This is rather good really, but like most flat beer, it fall just a bit flat. Perhaps a touch too sweet at this point and still a bit hot, but it's flavorful, interesting, enjoyable and relatively nice to drink. Glad I was recommended this one and glad I actually picked it as well. Thanks again. Cheers!
