Roasted flavor and smell very strong. Just tastes like an oatmeal stout.

After opening the bottle spilled over with suds for a good two minutes. Pours a dark amber brown with a thick moussy brown head.
Malty smell, black licorice and sweet sugary malt
The taste is very much black licorice with a sweet sugary malt backbone. Hops character is slightly spicy as in most dark belgians. The taste has coffee notes too reminiscent of a stout with a sour finish common to a lot of biere du gardes.
High carbonation with a medium body. Not overly drinkable but I had no problem finishing a 750mL bottle.
