Clear amber copper color with one finger head with short retention.
Malty aroma with notes of caramels, slightly toasted and smoked malts, bacon and biscuit with butter. Initially, sauce given we were talking about a Kellerbier, I thought that the smoked and bacon aromas might have come from the combination with the added spicy. But after sipping it, I concluded that the smoked note should also come from its malts.
Smoked flavor with notes of caramels, herbal and spicy hops in the background, mild charred wood and cinnamon. It finishes with a long spicy note.
Light bordering medium body with appropriate carbonation. Alcohol of 6.7% abv is well hidden.
This is rather good, a Lager with bold smoked and spicy flavors that found balance. More of a Rauch than a Keller.
