Hazy orange color with a thick head with decent retention, but not as abundant as usual wheat beers. Some floating particles of yeast.
Delicious citric and refreshing aroma, with fresh cut lemongrass and herbal hops.
Predominant lemon citrusy taste with clear lemongrass presence. Hints of biscuit and yeast. Aftertaste is dry and a bit acid.
Light body with an acid feeling with medium carbonation.
I liked this beer, a wheat beer with a hop kick but that is still in harmony with all other ingredients. It has its own character. If price was right it would be a great summer beer, anyway also good for a change.

350ml bottle served in a mug.

Bottle art is a clear reference to the American Flying Dog beers but in a brazilian context. This is part of the "extreme series" brewed by Backer, a brewery located in Brazilian state of Minas Gerais. Another detail to mention is the usage of "capim limão" (lemongrass) in its formula.

A: Pours a pale and very cloudy yellow in the glass forming a medium fluffy creamy white head. Low retention and some lacings left

S: Quite lemony, grassy and skunky American style hops in the nose. Quite spicy and piny too. Notes of fruits, like lemon and orange, notes of wheat and sweet grains. End is yeasty and bready

T: Another "weird" beer from the 3 Lobos series. First of all, it's quite hoppy for a wheat beer. Strong notes of grass and pine. Lemon zest, wheat, sweet malts. Upfront is slightly sweet but in overall, it's quite dry with a nice bitter sting in the end

M: Light to medium body. Medium carbonation. Citrus, piny and bitter aftertaste

O: Good drinkability. Weird but interesting and refreshing beer

355 mL bottle, courtesy of DoubleJ,

A: Pours a very hazy yellow, looks a lot like a witbier, fair head retention, no lace.

S: Butter/diacetyl, with a hint of lime and wheat.

T: This is a bit of a butter bomb, but it doesn't ruin the whole beer. Nice notes of citrus, some good malt flavour.

M: Crisp, fairly drinkable. Light-bodied, but at the end I'm not really feeling it.

O: Not atrocious, but not something I'd recommend. Cool label though.

On the label, there looks to be a cowboy riding a crocodile. The Exterminador is an American Wheat brewed with lemongrass (and I thought it was lime peel at first; time to practice my Portuguese). On to the beer:

One looks says that this is a witbier. It has a very pale looking yellow that it's almost white. Stop me if you've heard this before, but there is a little diacetyl hinted in the aroma, and a very subtle citrus note. Unlike the pilsner, the diacetyl character doesn't go away in the taste. The usual light flavored American wheat base is there, a little hint fo lime juice, and there's a kiss of diacetyl. It does have a pleasant feel however, being light bodied, crisp, and somewhat dry.

Rather bland with a flavor note that shouldn't be there. For a beer that is supposed to be "extreme", the recipe for Exterminador should be exterminated and given a complete makeover.
