Brown reddish color with bubbles attaching through the glass. Lots of thick head with good retention.
Aroma of toasted malts and notes of earthy and piney hops.
Interesting flavor, malty with strong presence of toasted malts and a nice hoppy kick. Spicy feeling with hints of caramel, matured apples and earthy hops.
Aftertaste is very dry with its long lasting taste and bitterness.
Light body with high carbonation with small bubbles.
Well executed beer, an altbier well above average.

Welcome back Bamberg, I missed you! 355 ml bottle from Costi Bebidas, on to the beer:

Not a lot of head on the pour on this amber brown colored beer. Very fruity aroma. It´s a bit too much for me to handle....I´m having a hard time finding malt in the nose. Very thin on the palate. There´s minimal bready malt to be found among the dominant fruity flavor. The aftertaste is a little bitter with burnt toast.

What happened here? These guys make a good rauchbier, a good hefeweizen, and a yummy Czech Pilsner, but here have made a mess of an Altbier. The beer was consumed two months before it´s best-by date, so I blame the twist-off top. I looked forward to this beer, and R$10 later, I wish I hadn´t.
