Bamberg's fall seasonal is a maibock, making it the among the first maibocks to be produced in Brazil. Many thanks to Marcelo for the bottle. Finally getting around to this. 600 ml bottle with a drink by date of 10/20/12, on to the beer:
A copperish orange color with sunlight colored hues, okay head retention, and a little whispy lace. Spoiler: this is not a widly appealing style to me, but I do like this one. But starting with the aroma, good doeses of honey, banana, floral, and some noticable alcohol make it fun to smell. The taste is rather strong (perhaps to be expected), yet reasonably smooth and not over the top with malt sweetness or booze. Honey and bread make a big part of the flavor, pleasant alcohol brings to mind a bite of white grape. Notes of floral as well. The aftertaste is quite bitter, however the moutIhfeel is helped from a bofy that is a little lighter than normal and smooth carbonation. Being of a style that's rare to find in Brazil, this should fill that vacany well during their fall.
