600ml bottle decanted into a curved imperial pint glass. “Validad” stamped “15 Jan 14”.
Appearance: Flat, murky, amber with absolutely zero head. The bottle didn’t “pop” much when I cracked it. Must be either a loose crown or a packaging problem.
Smell: Banana, clove, and wheat with a touch of artificial cherry.
Taste: The banana and clove come out nicely in the flavor as well. I also get a hint of crushed mint leaves in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: Light body, light carbonation.
Overall: It’s clearly a difference in cultural perception, but I was very surprised by the delicate construction of this beer. Don’t get me wrong… it’s a nice weizen. But I kind of expected a beer that celebrated the 25th anniversary of Brazil’s biggest death metal band to be a little more aggressive. In the US this beer would have been brewed with barbed wire and human blood. In Brazil, it’s a refreshing wheat beer. Nevertheless, it’s a nice beer from an amazing Brazilian brewery. I just wish it was a touch more carbonated.

brewed in commemmoration of Sepulturas 25th anniversary (a brazillian native metal bamd, though they are well enough known in the us). poured into the logoed weizen glass that came with the gift pack.
hazy sunny orange pour with a bright white head that leaves little lacing. heavy banana ama with clove and spices and some orange zest. tastes nearly the same as it smells: banana yeast notes, clove and spice, citrus and breads. body is light somwhat crisp with mice carbonation and great drinkability.
its a damn decent hefeweizen, but it definitely doesnt scream metal unfortumately lol
