Served on tap at the brewpub. Comes out a very nice golden orange/apple cider color. It looks like a an unfiltered glass of apple cider, as any good Keller/zwickel should. Light, medium thick crown. Looks delicious.
Aromatics of sour peach, apple, bread, wheat, pepper, lemon, orange zest, grains of paradise, malt all mix to create a rustic, fruity, musty, spicy mixture that is quite nice to smell. The aroma ends just a touch watery, but thats nitpicking, for a small 2000 barrel brewery, this is some good stuff.
Flavor is a continuation of the aromatic. Peach, fermented apple, pepper, lemon, bread, malt, honey, and a sweet-sour mix of yeast and grain all cleansed by a refreshing bite of carbonation. Light, refreshing, biting, exactly what I was looking for.
Drinkabilty is very high, the low 4.8% ABV and refreshing tart quality make this a great beer. This is my new local brewpub, and while a bit pricey, very good, excellent quality, good kitchen and a view of the in-house brewing facility. Next, onto the Hefeweizen.
