Appearance - Pours jet black with thin tan head that dissiaptes after a few minutes.
Aroma - Lots of leather, tobacco, roasted malts, oak, hints of vanilla, dark chocolate and a mild bourbon.
Taste - On the front end i am getting lots of tobacco, leather and roasted malts. The end I am getting the bourbon and oak along with some dark bitter chocolate.
Feel - Full creamy feel coats your mouth fully. Bitter finish and pretty dry.
Overall - A well done barrel aged beer, lots of great flavors and very smooth.

Poured from a bomber into a DT tulip
L: Dark black pour.. slightly lighter around the edges. Thin tannish head. No significant lacing.
S: Lots of barrel... booze/bourbon. Char and vanilla.
T/F: Rich... malty and alcohol sweetness balanced out by some bitter char. Warming and boozy... lots of barrel character. Strong vanilla and bourbon. Dark sugars and chocolate. Medium in body... expected thicker. Low carbonation.
O: An above average big barrel aged stout. They nailed the barrel character, and I can nitpick on the body etc. One of the better Sly Fox beers I've had.

Black as coal, small head, little lacing. Classic IRS, whiskey taste is less pronounced than I would hope. Mild alcohol burn should let this one warm and open up.

best before march 2018. 2014 vintage. 750 mL bottle.
A: struggling to get this into the glass without making a huge mess. very foamy. maybe take the conditioning back a tick next time. pours a dark brown with a brown foamy head. points off for the gushing foam.
S: vanilla and bourbon and roasted stout character. oak and wood.
T: getting a lot of vanilla from the barrel aging. sweet booze, but works well with the brew. really not that intense at all considering how fresh this thing is. acrid finish. plenty of chocolate and bitter roast. roast, bitterness and bourbon is all that's there. not as much complexity as I would have liked.
M: carb is strong. too much, especially from the foaming aspect, not to mention it gets in the way of the drink a bit.
D: a drink now barrel aged RIS from Sly Fox. very fairly priced. not bad, but really nothing to write home about.
