The rich brown color beer is served in a standard shaker pint with a 1/4" light tan head that leaves little lacing as it recedes to a thin layer on the surface.

The aromas include a bit of dark fruits and what seems to be some Belgian yeast.

The flavors are mostly the dark fruits with other hints of the yeast. There is a bit of bitterness at the end.

The mouth feel is medium bodied and fairly smooth with the mild carbonation.

While not an outstanding dubbel this is one I could easily drink again, especially during an evening out with friends.

Pours dark brown, translucent around the edges, with a whitish head.

Smells of caramel malts and some spices.

Rich flavor; caramel malts, figs, some cinnamon, brown sugar, and mild hops.

Full body with slight warmth and a sting of carbonation.

Really good dubbel, better than some authentic Belgian ones I've had. I would have this again. And again.

Very clear with a deep plum/ruby colour. A thin skim of fine tan bubbles appeared after the pour, forming a thin ring and some sticky, spotty lacing. Fruity aroma, light banana and plum, bready yeast, earthy raisins, malt. Fleeting hint of smoke and light alcohol as it warmed. The flavour was very fruity too - plums, red grapes skins, raisins, just a hint of banana. Fairly sweet, but not cloying. Bready malt with a hint of hops and toffee towards the end. Some alcohol presence in the finish, along with lingering fruit. Medium (maybe medium to full) bodied, very smooth texture. Carbonation was on the low side, well integrated. Nicely done and quite drinkable. If this was bottled, I'd make sure to keep a few bottles on hand.

A: Poured a reddish/brown with minimal head but a solid outline of bubbles surrounding the beer.

S: Dark malts and yeast with a mild funk. There is a less perceptible malt sweetness, clove and allspice.

T: There is a piney hopness that is immediate and leaves just as quick. You are then hit with the maltiness and the sweetness that accompanies. Finally some spices (same as above), yeast, and breadiness.

M: Good carbination. Nice maltiness that coats the mouth and has quite the long finish.

D: The sweetness of the malts is balanced nicely by the bitterness. This is a good beer to hang out with all night.

Got this guy in a small 10 oz. growler from Shoreline Beverage. They accommodate my every need (beer wise, not sexually)!

Pours a dark, opaque brown. Medium carbonation, tiny head.

Very smoky, with chalky yeast notes, undertones of anise, plums, raisins, and some very Belgian-esque intangibles.

The taste follows suit. Ripe grapes, anise, candy sugars, dried fruits. A wee bit of herbal notes from whatever hops are used. Dry in the finish. Very tasty.

From a growler purchased a few hours ago from shoreline Bev. in Huntington (L.I.), NY. Pours dark brown/cola in color, initially with a loose bubble 1 inch head, that prety quickly fades to just a film and then to a ring around the glass, minor lacing. Figs and raisins in the nose. Easy drinking, smooth on the tongue, low carbonation Dubbel. Plenty of ripe fruit, Belgian style yeasty goodness, lightly charred malts and complexity. Not sure if they plan to put this into bottles, but I really enjoyed this stuff fresh from a keg.

A - clean, deep brown color with a light tan head that thinned out to a light layer, leaving a little lacing.

S - sweet date and yeasty aroma.

T - sweet raisin/date malty taste with a yeasty finish. abv is not noticable at all.

M - medium bodied, mild carbonation, it works well.

D - I enjoyed the sample I had and could have gone for another.

It pours a refreshingly clear Coca-Cola mahogany complete with frenetic carbonation. Barely a finger of light tan head dissipates to nothing in no time. Lacing appears for a moment that pops away in a flash.

The aroma is malt, nutty, sweet, and with a general dried fruit character. The yeast renders up a smooth offering of esters, with crisp ripe apple and a dash of clove. The alcohol is apparent, but it's not at all hot or out of place.

Upon sipping, the malt is earthily sweet, with dates and sloe fruit in place. The esters quickly crisp the grain, again with green apple and a more incorporated blend of spice, though still with a notable measure of clove. The alcohol is a bit more out front here, though it is met capably by the rest of the beers personality. A nutty element comes through as the grain reasserts, and a mild dough intimation is soon dried to a nicely lingering, lightly bitter finish. It's a refreshing, well-done specimen.

Medium bodied, the malt has a slick consistency that coats and layers the sweetness and spice in a fetching manner.

I was actually a bit taken aback by the appearance, as I thought maybe the bartender gave me a cola instead of a beer, and I wasn't overly impressed, but it got steadily better from there.
It was fun to experience from sip one. The ABV is worked in so well that it is hardly of note. So be sure to take note!
Anyway, I really enjoyed this in pretty much every way. What more could I ask for?
