$ 2.00 (Including tax)/16 oz can ($ 0.125/oz) from Franklin Beer, Franklin, PA. Reviewed 7/1/19.
“CANNED ON 03/27/19” stamped near top of can. In reefer at point of sale. Stored upside down at 42 degrees and served at 45 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter.
Appearance – 3.5.
First pour – Yellow, clear.
Body – Gold, slight haze, effervescent.
Head – Large (Maximum 4.7 cm, aggressive center pour), off white, initially fizzy but quickly settling into a solid, medium density, cap with an average retention and a six to eight mm crown.
Lacing – None.
Aroma – 3 – Weak tropical fruitiness.
Flavor – 3 – Begins with a light tropical fruity/melony flavor followed by a light generic hoppy flavor and bitterness. As it warms, the ending becomes slightly metallic. No alcohol taste or aroma (7.4 % ABV), no diacetyl, no dimethylsulfide.
Palate – 3 – Medium, juicy, soft carbonation.
Impression and interpretation – 3 – Neither good nor bad. This is distinctly an IPA but there isn’t too much else to say about it other than the price point being appropriate.
