2009 Hop Project Beer.

A: Crystal clear amber body. Moderate off-white head. Light skim and spotty lacing are left after the head dies down and after each sip.

S: Lots of caramel malt. Slight bready malt undertones. Not much hop in the nose.

T: Caramel malt and herbal, floral hop notes. Not a whole lot going on here, but it does taste decent.

M: Medium bodied with a lingering bitterness after each sip. Slightly undercarbonated for my liking.

D: The hops simply were not present enough to showcase what the marynka hop is capable of. My #10 of the 11 single-hop hop project brews.

Pours rusty copper with thin white head. Smells of earthy malts. Brown sugar and roasty sweetness with orange and pine hops. Sticky feel.

Creeping up on being an amber. Maybe too thick to be very drinkable, but not too challenging at the same time.

a: This was a clear golden coppery color. It was served to me with a one half inch, sticky white cap.

s: Moderately bitter herbal tea hop aromas with a solid caramel backbone.

t: Well balanced, I got plenty of clean caramel sweetness and some grassy, herbal bitterness.

m: Crisply carbonated.

d: I ordered another one, what else can I say?

Growler at PPRBSG09. Pours a clear orange with a thick off-white head. Aroma of bready malt and light fruits. Flavor is quite bready and malty with the same light fruits in the finish. Still, totally dominated by the malt. Very similar to the rest of the pale ale series and quite drinkable.

On tap at Isaac's.

A- Light clear golden amber brown with a godd frothy lacing head.
S- Sweet brown sugar malt and clean pine hops.
T- Sweet brown sugar and caramel malt with a crisp sweet pine hoppiness. Light touch of toffee.
M- Slight bitter licorice start with a crisp sweet malty body and a light sweet hop finish.

Overall- A little malt heavy. Slightly overpowers the hops. Tasty regardless.

On tap at The Waterfront, Brooklyn, NYC.

Poured a medium copper hue with a one finger foamy white head. There was good retention and lacing.

The smell featured a combination of citric, herbal and earthy hops with a touch of caramel.

The taste consisted of a full caramel malt with a cleansing herbal hop spice.

The mouthfeel was toward the fuller side of the style.

A heavy APA for sure, but tasty nonetheless.

Crystal clear amber with a fine, light beige cap. Sticky, solid lacing clung to the glass. Good head retention. Soft aroma, spicy with a hint of lemon and malt. A little on the mild side. Moderate bitterness with spicy, peppery, earthy hops throughout. Light caramel malt sweetness. Medium to light bodied with fine carbonation, a bit dry. Nice texture. I really liked this hop. It was a little weak in the aroma, but really worked well on its own.

I had this one on tap at Capone's.

Poured a medium and clear amber color wtih a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of floral hops, pine, and some citrus. Tastes of citrus, pine, and caramel. Nice hoppiness with a nicer malt balance in the tastes.
