Haze of the Future Passed from Sly Fox Brewing. Purchased 9/23/20 for $ 4.00 (Including tax) for 16 oz can ($ 0.25/oz) from Franklin Beer, Franklin, PA. In reefer at store and stored at home at 42 degrees. Reviewed 12/25/20.
Marked on bottom of can “CANNED 09/03/2020 BEST BY 01/03/2021”. Served at 46.5 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. Final temperature 52.3 degrees.
Appearance – 4.5.
First pour – Pale straw (SRM 2), hazy.
Body – Straw (SRM 3), opaque. When held to direct light, translucent.
Head – Large (Maximum five cm, aggressive center pour), ivory, high density, average retention, leaving a five mm crown, a complete rocky cap, and three rings of torn curtain lacing as the head retracts. Second pour produces a tight two cm head.
Lacing – Excellent! Predominantly near-microscopic-bubbled lacing with many small bubbles covers the inside of the glass, ranging from torn curtains at the top to a complete sheet at the bottom.
Aroma – 4 – Initially strong smell of generic tropical fruit, no malt, no yeast. Quickly weakens.
Flavor – 4 – Begins with slightly sweet generic tropical fruit, no hops, no yeast. Ends lightly bitter with a bit of malt coming through. No alcohol (6 % ABV, as marked on container) taste or aroma. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl.
Palate – 4 – Medium, almost creamy, lively carbonation.
Final impression and summation: 4 Best lacing I’ve seen in ages! Although this is approaching end of life, it is still very flavorful and easily pounded. Another hit from Sly Fox!

Pours a ‘Moody’ opaque straw gold with generous head. Nice lacing as the glass empties. No ‘Blues.’

I get earthy notes in the aroma, some undefined citrus and a slight dankness.

Citrus jumps out on the tongue some vegetal notes as well. There is a honey like sweetness that ends the sip.

Medium body.

I enjoyed this. That said, the honey-like aftertaste felt a little out of place to me. I’m glad to have tried it and would definitely drink it again.

Close to two fingers of bright white foam, pockmarked surface, good bit of splotchy lacing. Can’t call it translucent, passes into opacity, still not quite apricot juice and there’s more brighter yellow hues than most peers. Pleasingly crisp and not overwrought nose of cracker, white pepper, pulped white grapefruit, freshly green rather than dank, touch of cigar ash and earth, the pineapple, papaya, peach fruit scents display more cut than ripeness. Light to medium-bodied, the carbonation kicks up a lot of dust and keeps scrubbing past when you swallow. Lot more cracker, bread crust here and adds tangerine to the white grapefruit. Wicked dry, but still clean and not a lot of residue. Passion fruit, pineapple, kiwi flavors but, again, all dry and zesty. Pine most obvious at the end where it too shows a pinch of cocoa. Palate needs to adjust to it and really grew on me once it did. (Canned 9/2/20)
