This seemed to drink closer to a nondescript lager than an actual Vienna. Missing were certain notes of toffee, caramel, and graham cracker. Available were cereal grains and cracker. There was a nice hoppy bite. I found this to be a nice pizza beer overall. Tasty and crushable, just not true to style IMO

From Beer Drop best by February 18th 2026.
It pours a clear pale gold with oodles of foam, excellent retention and lacing.
The smell is hoppy, a little bit spicy, some light bread, perhaps a little too much hop aroma for a Vienna Lager.
The taste is hoppy, good notes of bread, somewhat spicy, grassy with hints of fruit.
Medium bodied, right amount of carbonation, I would drink this again.

This isn't the same as their Throwback Lager. It's specifically Blitz Vienna Lager and the ABVs aren't the same. This one shows to be highly carbonated, although the head is modest. With the contents of a pint can now emptied into a clear glass liter mug, a light and bright copper-amber liquid may be observed. The quickly disappearing head is just off-white. As with many in the style, there's more malt to smell than with a typical lager, but there are others that bring more of it. There's a bit more earthy hops in the mix, too. Its taste is very nicely balanced between malt and hops and just like it should be, the malt opens the taste sensation and the hops close it. But, it's better than that, as there's some hops at the onset and some lingering complex malty sweetness as part of the finish. The level of malt may not be enough to sustain a head, nor leave any glass lacing at all. Yet, this is so much richer and smoother in its delivery than the average Lager. This can't be thought of as amongst the best in the category, but it's a long way from being considered one of the worst.
