really sturdy for an amber, like darker in color, fuller in body, maybe not all that much more flavorful or aromatic than is common in the style, but like, this is wintery to me, filling, and as generic as it seems to be, its heft is what defines it and makes it stand out, and i can appreciate that, especially in a style most folks want to continuously dumb down in every possible way to make it more standardized, drinkable, and mass appealing, i got no love for that. some hops here but they seem to be all for bitterness, dont hate that against the sweeter and richer crystal malts here, an appealing european element to the grain side i reckon. balance in its more robust form, some grassiness and even a little hoppy spice, suggesting something noble, but the malt covers most of that, toffee and baked richness, a little bit of minerality and even metallic character, slows me down just a touch. good but not great, and still i have not had enough beer from these guys to either be too high or low, but this middles again. more flavorful than bygone old man style amber, but not special to me either...
