Appearance: super dark brown, crossing the border to black. completely opaque, causing black throug the center and mahogany around the edges. a finger or two of a tan head that fades slowly
Smell: toast, slight nuttiness, caramel, toffee and chocolate. well balance but with the strong maris otter and some caramel/chocolate being the most dominate
Taste: opens up with a fruity english yeast strain, makes way to lots of dark malty flavors but excluding roastiness. lots of bread and toast, some light nuttiness, backend has lots of caramel to toffee and some chocolate.
Mouthfeel: medium body, very pleasant and drinkable despite the super dark color. low to no bitterness
Overall: a great and very characterful english brown ale. incorporates great yeast along with great malts, and just enough hops to balance. tasty and dark but drinkable.
