4/10/20...Pours dark brown/amber with light tan foam that fizzes and mostly softens and settles. Coffee/cola nose. Some chocolate too. Light sweet earthy flavor. Malty and with a mushroom backed flavor. Fast finish and a touch sweet. Just so so.

Malty and smooth, with some earthy notes as well. Not particularly "shroomy".

A: Light brown as it pours, but a dark brown in the glass with a moderate tan head.
S: Rich caramel, and gram cracker pie crust. Hint of chocolate.
T: Toffee, caramel, and brown bread. Perhaps a touch of earth in the finish, maybe slightly metallic.
M: Medium light, with moderate carbonation.
O: Overall not a bad bock, but seems like added the mushroom was an unnecessary expense since you can't really tell that it's there... Not sure if that is good or bad...

Poured from bottle into a stange glass. Poured a clear chocolate brown with dark cream colored head that dissipated quickly to ring. Smelled of sweet malts and and earthy hint of something I couldn't put my finger on (the mushrooms I guess?). Taste followed the aroma. Medium body, almost syrupy on the front with a semi-dry finish. Interesting enough that I'd drink it again.

Pours black with no head
Smells creamy chocolate
Taste is nice good full bodies feel. Good cream taste with just a little bite behind it. Really tasty brew. ( my first review)

Dark amber in color. Ruby when held up to a bright light. A 3 finger head rises atop, but dissipates to absolutely nothing.
Aroma of coffee and alcohol. Dark fruits and a different sort of "fruitiness" that must be the mushrooms.
Taste a lot like a stout at first, but later more like a barleywine. Still a bit of coffee though. A little funky, but not like a Saisson. I think it's mushroom funk. More grapey in taste than the dark fruits of the aroma. Vinous.
Medium full bodied with clinging syrup and biting carbonation. Somwhat drying.
A really good beer. The mushrooms are subtle, but different enough to spark interest.

DATE: December 7, 2017... OCCASION: home after celebrating at our annual holiday party... GLASSWARE: Celebrator pokal... pours a velvet-dark body with shafts of purple supporting a strong, oatmeal brown head that coalesces into a reasonably thick foam... nice roasted malts to start, accompanied by an earthy rust, some sweet caramel, and and a plasticine finish... sips a medium-bodied, slightly boozy, definitely syrupy mouthfeel--formidable, with a lingering coating on the throat... soda-like at the start, with some effervescence... the flavor profile admits slight metallic ping, subtle chocolate, licorice, anise, prune, raisin, date, and some other earthy elements... the red grape intensifies by the bottles end... complex but not complicated.... a dry, lightly smoky, nuanced bock that delivers a strong, rich back beat... borderlines as a barleywine... not bad as a one-off, but as some believe, mushrooms don't contribute much to a flavor...
