Poured from a 6th at home. First couple pours were foamy (not unexpected) and muddy/cloudy (not expected). Probably some settling in the keg, which was 3 months old when I tapped her, ...but sold as fresh - as per the distributor. Couple pours later, the mud cleared and the beer became its hazy regular self. Nice taste, zesty fruitiness with average bitter bite, more pineapple for me than citrus. Beautiful head that lingers. A more creamy feel would make this a winner. Ideal APV for an afternoon-to-evening session with the stuff. Would have loved to taste it when it was REALLY fresh!

Poured into a grip shaped goblet: color is straw gold, more transparent than hazy, head is off white and presents 1 finger thick, quickly dissipates to nothing with a feint ring along the glass, no lacing.
Smell is subdued - light malt seems forward with notes of bread and toast, hops are lemony, maybe light citrus rind, herbal and grassy notes mixed in as well.
Taste is mixed malt and hops - no clear winner up front; bread, toast, lemon, citrus, herbs and grass. More traditional IPA stylings.
Mouthfeel is moderate carbonation, moderate sweetness, moderate bitterness.
Overall a lemony, herbal IPA with some advertising that its a hazy but the styling is more traditional IPA.

I've been trying a lot of these "fruity" beers. I'm a traditionalist. For me tweaking the hops blend is a risky business. The grapefruit crept up on me and made me wonder why I hadn't thought of eating a ripe grapefruit with sips of Sierra Nevadas IPA. That's what this beer is.

From the bottle, it pours a hazy light amber with a modest, soon diminishing, white head that does attempt to leave a bit of lace. In the nose, it is very light in scent, with notes of citrus. The mouth gets a bit of grapefruit and malt.

12 ounce bottle poured into a Duvel tulip glass.
L---Hazy, medium gold color. Minimal white head that faded down to a collar almost instantly. Lacing was OK.
S---Smell is light, but has tropical & citrus fruits.
T---Taste is fortunately much stronger than the nose, although the notes are the same. Hoppy.
F---Medium bodied with plenty of carbonation.
O---OK, but nothing special. I'd take another if you were buying.

Barely hazy and lacking the smooth mouth feel characteristic of most hazy beers. The hoppy finish is the only evidence this is an IPA. That finish is bitter, but lacks the clean and pleasant bite of a good ale.

A: poured about a third of the bottle at first, it's a pretty clear beer, yellow in color, with a white head.
S: light grapefruit, citrus, and a hint herbal. Not overwhelming though.
T: light citrus, a touch of grapefruit peel, and perhaps a little resinous.
M: medium light, carbonation is lacking, but if a bitter cooling in the finish.
O: overall, but a bad drink but light on flavor and aroma, and missing the mark on style.

Poured from the bottle into a Spiegelau IPA glass.
Well here's one for appearances. Listed as a hazy IPA, the beer pours quite a real nice clear pale lemon yellow, showing real nice reams of fine carbonation rising through it. A good simple three finger head, no more, no less, with simple retention and a bleach white color. Hazy… not even close, bad looking hardly. Strangely it’s a real good looking beer, but certainly not as advertised in looks so far.
However, on aroma, this beer delives on point for an IPA. Good solid juiced hops, with touches of light green herbs and pine mixed together. Flirts with a little bit of earthy flavors on the nose too. Nice complexity going on here. Not much malt presence, pretty neutral to let the hops really showcase and they are.
Palate seems a little odd if very good. Juiced up a bit, but with less malt body than your average IPA. Hits towards almost west coast style flavors of citrus, but not exactly. The mid palate hits with a juiced sort of orange like a hazy IPA, but with a more session like depth and flavor. The IPA angle has an interesting sort of berry, exotic flavor that is very exceptional.
The names is a bit of a misnomer, but it still is a solid tasting IPA regardless.
