Served in a Devil's Backbone willibecher.
What the hell does "tye" mean? No matter, the beer pours a dark brown, highlighted with stark ruby, topped by over a finger of staunch tan foam. The nose comprises roasted malts, light coffee, molasses, and some nice milk chocolate. The taste holds notes of chocolate powder, roasted malts, a hint of smoke, and a light toastiness. The body is a firm medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a very creamy feel. Overall, a very solid and tasty porter, one of the best brews I've had at this particular establishment.

Poured from a fresh growler (purchased 5/17/09). Pours a deep brown, nearly black, with a very small head.
Strong aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, and coffee. Very nice. All three of those flavors come through in the first taste, no deception here.
The mouthfeel is very nice, not too strong, not too spicy. Just a rich mellow feel, like the taste itself.
I could easily drink several glasses of this, and will.
It's a shame that you can only get it from the brewery with your meal or in a growler, I'd love to drink this porter more often!
