Inspired by modern German Oktoberfest bier, O’Fest will make you want to hoist a stein at your local bier hall and say “Prost!” We hear that means “cheers” in German. It’s medium-bodied, golden in color, and tastes smooth, malty & bready thanks to the contemporary blend of malts and hops. You’ll love it whether it’s October or Oktober.

O'Fest Lager has a thick, off-white head and a clear, copper appearance, with minimal lacing. The aroma is of brown bread crust. The flavor is of sweet, spicy brown bread with low bitterness. O'Fest Lager has a medium body and a dry finish.

12 oz can served in a Belgian snifter.
Appearance. Clear amber colored body with a decent head.
The aroma is not bad but suggests this might be a poor lager. Nonetheless, the flavor is near average for the style, with Euro hops and a particularly good bitter-sweet mix. The body seems a shade too light.

German beer from the Shenandoah! Devil's Backbone consistently delivers exceptionally good beers. As a lover of German style beers, Devil's Backbone is always one of my first choices. O'Fest continues that tradition.

12oz bottle, wine glass, best by 1/13/23.
Clear gold color, white head that’s smallish for the style.
Rich malts, light toast, hint of apple flesh, very clean.
Clean, crisp sip carrying that rich, almost chewy malt, honey, and clean lager yeast.
Medium-full body, medium-high carbonation, and a very clean finish.
How many times can I use clean to describe one beer? This is a pretty nice Oktoberfest, though I peg it more as a Festbier, not a Märzen.

Picked up a sixer from TW-Greenville, SC 8-12-22 for $8.99. Best before 12JAN23, consumed for review 9-11-22.
Beer poured golden orange with a nice white head.
Nose has hints of toasted malts.
Taste is wheat bread that lends a taste of sweetness. Hops lend enough bitterness but the toasted malt base is lacking.
Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied and fairly refreshing.
Overall as a beer it drinks fine but it does not hit the style.

Pours a light copper with a finger of head. The nose is bready and biscuity. The flavor has the classic fest-style breadiness but the heartiness of flavor and body is just not there.

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a dark golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is full of malts. Taste is malty, caramel , a bit of bananas round out the flavor profile. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a pretty good beer.
