I tried this beer at my bestie's country club, Cabarras, in Concord, North Carolina whilst there for the member-guest golf tounrament. It poured a slight hazy orangish with white head that left some lace. The scent had citrus peel notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with semi sweet malt base with a variety of citrus presence. The mouthfeel was medium in body with good carbaonation. Overall it is a solid beer.

From the can, it pours a clear golden color witth a very nice large, long lasting white head that slowly reduces and leaves lacing. The nose gets basement scents - dank. The mouth follows, with bitterness to boot! Feel in the mouth is smooth and medium bodied.

Poured into a grip shaped wide mouth goblet, color is gold, transparent, head is off white and presents 1 finger thick, head dissipates to nothing.
Smell is solid malt and hops: pleasant light malt sweetness, toast, biscuit, hops are citrus and pine, herbal quality, no ‘dank’ ness though.
Taste is more malt/hop balance in the traditional AIPA style - citric, pine, herbal hops and light malt sweetness with some toast and biscuit.
Mouthfeel is moderate carbonation, moderate sweetness, moderate bitterness.
Overall a classically hoppy, slightly malty IPA though not dank.

Cyborg brain juice IPA from DB seems to differ from it's Eight Point IPA enough to be a solid entry in their lineup of pale ale offerings. The look of the brew is super clear golden yet deep in incandescent light. The smell is very piney with hints of malt in the aroma. The taste is what really pushes this brew toward a slightly different offering is that there is some dankness perhaps more bitterness than some mass marketed IPA's. The great carbonation is there and is needed to hold the bite of the present grapefruit and piney taste to keep them together during a small sip or a first beer gulp. Overall there is just enough more hop bite to qualify for dank (even though I'd expect more given label), and gives a good clean finish with a little hop bite behind. A fairly good offering from Devil's Backbone.

Appearance: Clear amber-gold body, small white head, decent lacing.
Aroma: Subtle resinous notes with a bit of citrus in the background.
Taste: Crisp and grainy. Hops show up gradually but not forcefully.
Mouthfeel: Well carbonated, medium bodied.
Overall: Shrugs. Not bad but if I want ordinary I'll get it from an obscure independent brewer.

Clear gold, big eggshell white head, excellent retention and lace
Not as dank as expected, but dankness is there, along with pine and grapefruit
Pretty much tastes like it smells, a bit of toast and caramel malt flavor
Medium bodied with appropriate carbonation
Meh
