Finally a Bohemian style pilsner which would stand up to the very best from the Czech Republic.
The beer is unfiltered and unpasteurised (as all beers should be in my world), as such it pours a slightly hazy golden, so reminiscent of kvasnicove lagers. On top of the beer sits a couple of inches of white, fluffy foam.
The nose is all Saaz - lemony, almost orange blossom as well, a touch of hay. Just slightly in the background is a touch of freshly baked bread.
Drinking the beer is where the malt comes to the fore, biscuity, bready, slightly grainy, but not overly so. Crisp and clean with no trace of diacetyl.
Beautiful lacing down the glass, and polished off in a few minutes. This was like being back in Prague. Simply magnificent.
