Collaboration brew with the staff at Meridian Pint. Poured into a shaker pint from the cask. Recommended to me by Warren after I had a first sip I had to get a pint of this.
A surprising somewhat clear appearance, with a buttery gold color. Simple light white thin but always populated good white collar.
Bouquet on this is really nice. Super soft hop aromas, with floral flowery hints and mild pollen, and chewy grassy character. Malt depth and pils baked bread. It's really lovely.
Palate hits with mellow juice and perhaps a brief hint of tropical fruit. Then orange and hop citrus aromas wash over, with a malt and melon tasting density. Malt finish with baked bread and spicy grassy quality and hop action. Lots of great chewy bread pilsner malt with a big density. So many hop flavors it seems. Feel is cask buttery chewy and moderately carbonated, and accents and fills the palate nicely.
I am real impressed with this one, this is by far the best Devils Backbone brew I've ever had to date, big and super easy drinking, and a diverse hop bouquet. I love this floral/orange/melon/spicy grass hop bouquet and taste. I wonder what the future holds for this beer
