While not an officially recognized animal in Virginia, Cougars have reported being spotted within the Commonwealth. And much like its namesake, Turbo Cougar is pale, strong, and graceful. Turbo Cougar is a Blonde Bock, with clean bready notes, deep golden hue, full body, and lager drinkability. If you spot one in the wild or marketplace, you will be rewarded. Once again, the cougar is on the prowl.

From the bottle, it pours a clear amber with moderate head, constantly replenished by a steady stream of bubbles from the bottom. Malt in the nose. Malty flavor in the mouth, with a slight caramel flavor. Nice!

Mostly blear blonde tinted amber body, virtually no head. Caramel, biscuit and blonde malts lead the smell and taste, and that's about it. Has touches of grassy hops on the very end of the finish I guess. Feel is thin, bright and light even for style, no springy zest but instead a malt bomb

12 oz bottle poured in a hexagonal glass. A "stanky" euro lager aroma, but smooth malty finish. Solid blonde bock lager, very drinkable at pushing 7%.

A friend gave me a six pack today and just cracked one open. The first sip was a little sweep and I thought I was going to drink something with a high alcohol content. TUrns out it's only 6%.
Smooth going down, not too carbonated and not too sweet. Smooth the entire time.
Really enjoyed the entire beer from start to finish and could definitely see this as a 4th of July type of beer (all day).
Thanks Mark!

Pours clear, gold with minimal head and carbonation. Taste is toasted malt, grass, and some interesting earthy hops. Lots of peppery saison-ike qualities as well. Really enjoying this beer. One of my new favorites from the brewery. I will pick this up again.

I think this is my second time trying a Devil’s Backbone beer and I am liking them so far. This variety has 6.5% ABV and is a blond bock lager/maibock.
Look-This one pours a crystal clear liquid with a light golden yellow color and a light orange copper tinge in the light. The head is non-existent and the lacing is also essentially null.
Smell-It has a sweet malt base and some fruity overtones like apricot and apple cereal that are accompanied by a toasted grainy malts. There is not enough strength to these components, but for a 6.5% beer with little hops, I’d say that it is OK.
Taste-There are definitely some floral hop components alongside the slightly caramel based malts and some citrus hops as well, but these are all very well mixed and slightly subtle, but apparent.
Mouthfeel-This beer feels as smooth and silky as the head that it does not have, but I imagined it might have. The beer is medium-bodied and well integrated. I get a slight coating composed of sweetness and a hoppy oil component that lingers on the tongue and gives it a slight dry feel.
Overall-I really enjoyed this one although I was skeptical at first. I was pleasantly surprised. Although the aroma lacked depth and the taste was not very hoppy considering the malt base, I think that this beer is a great one of its class, namely blond bock lager. I would try this one again, actually. Cheers!

Not my style, but a decent helles bock by a fine brewery. Felt the flavors were not quite as balanced as they could have been. Finish was nice and clean, though

Bottled on 7/13/15...a nice fresh beer.Pour one and a half bottles into a 1/2 liter stein a clear light to medium golden with a thinner than expected white head atop.Lightly toasted grain and some caramel in the nose.A somewhat prickly feel in the mouth wich is a bit odd for the style,a little thinner than most of the style as well. The flavors I do like,a mix of caramel, dough, and vegetal notes. If the body was beefed up to match the nice flavors with would be really good,as is...ok.
