Bottled 08/20/18

Appearance - Pours mostly clear and golden orange in color with an off-white, near finger width head. Sub-par retention results in a thin, broken layer of suds. Fair lacing with broken webbing and small spotting.

Smell - Citrusy orange, lesser grapefruit and a strong caramel malt nose. Hints of floral character.

Taste - Follows the nose. A mix of grapefruit and orange citrus pop with a very strong caramel malt presence. Floral notes come though near the finish, then some pithy bitterness, sugary caramel and boozy heat.

Mouthfeel - Near full-bodied with fair carbonation. Not the smoothest drinker, with a dry, boozy and leaving a slightly sticky finish on the lips.

Overall - I'm a sucker for citrus and caramel forward IPA's, but this one is a little too boozy and aggressive. Drinkable, but not a brew I'd seek out.

Bottled on 7/19/2018.Pours into a stemmed glass a clear rich golden with a tinge of copper color,a full finger white head atop that left one full ring of lace as it settles.Overripe citrus fruits and sweet malts in the nose,a sweeter aroma profile but not bad.Definitely on the sweeter side on the palate, big sugars and caramel malts makes for a sticky feel, some booze and pine come in the finish to round out the palate.Like too many of the style it's too sweet with only a hint of what could be from the hops,it's not a bad beer but just amp up the hops without amping up all the sweetness.

Poured a clear copper body with little head and the aroma is grainy, airy, hoppy with minimal citric bitterness. Thicker, medium-bodied beer with a citric floral burst that has a mix of hoppy booziness and heated finish. Notes of citric/grapefruit hops with minimal maltiness and is overall a not-too-shabby IPA.

12 oz. bottle poured into a pint glass.

L---Opaque golden copper color. Small white head that turned to a film and left nice lacing.

S---Citrus. A little piney. Sweet. Hops are definitely there waiting to be tasted.

T---Really good. Grapefruit is most noticeable. Well balanced between pine/citrus of the hops and the candies (caramel/toffee) of the malts.

F---Well carbonated. A bit of a pucker from the bitterness of the hops.

O---An excellent IPA. I'd drink this all day if it weren't 9.1%, so maybe just a couple.
