While I'm not generally a fan of pumpkin beers, Liftbridge's BA Imperial Pumpkin Porter is surprisingly drinkable.
Interestingly, the spices used in the beer have an interesting complementary quality with the alcohol presence. It's not overwhelmingly boozy because the spices are there. It's not overwhelmingly spiced because the alcohol gives it enough presence that spice isn't all that's there.
As a fall or winter beer, I like this one a lot - it has very pleasant warmth in your mouth, throat and stomach. It definitely has a powerful alcohol presence though, so more than one isn't recommended. I enjoyed this one in a flight with Barrel Aged Silhouette (the star of the flight), Gray Duck (a collaboration with Goose Island), and Chocolate-dipped Biscotti. That was the end of my drinking evening!
