upslope has put out another beer that fits in well with their others, straightforward pretty well made beer with almost nothing to get real excited about. a low alcohol hop forward pale ale that isnt as light or bubble as other session beers in this style, and it sort of middles for that reason, unremarkable, even though it serves the purpose well enough. copper in color, a little darker than expected, not a lot of head or visible carbonation. smells and tastes like about a million other american pales, and has a touch of sweetness because maybe they pulled the plug early on fermentation rather than cutting back the fermentables bill enough, thats how it seems at least, although its not too sweet by any stretch, and drinks easy enough. hops are a little generic too, some fruity bitterness in the finish, but its lacking anything fun or memorable for me. a good beer for when you want your meal to be more interesting than your beverage. it wipes the palate clean after each sip, and may work well in a heavier food context. not the summer hop bomb i was hoping for, but not bad either.
