Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance- The beer is served a clear golden copper color with a small head of white foam. The head fades fast leaving a touch of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell - The aroma is big of a bread and lightly toasted smell, mixed with notes of caramel and a light toffee. Along with these comes a bit of spice and notes of harvest fruit.
Taste- The taste starts with a lightly sweet taste of caramel mixed with toasted bread crust and a light brown bread. Along with these comes notes of wheat and grain and a bit toffee. As the taste advances the sweetness fades all while the malt increases, leaving one with a malty and drier Marzen taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel- The body is medium in thickness and creaminess with a moderate carbonation level.
Overall - A decent, drier Marzen. Good for the season.

Clear white gold with a fluffy, bumpy white head.
Kinda corny--a bit fresh and a bit stewed--countered by some waxy nuttiness. An amber toffee and orange peel combo round it out within its filling froth.

The pour is amber colored with a light amount of carbonation. On the taste I'm picking up some toasted bread along with some delicate honey & caramel notes as well. The taste is too sweet to be an Oktoberfest/Marzen beer, strange brew. Cheers! B-

12oz can poured into Duvel tulip. BB DEC 21 21 printed on bottom of can. So this still has 4 months of freshness left in it. Picked up from grocery store as part of a $10 sixer mixer.
Appearance - Pours thin 1/3-finger white head with decent to low retention, lacing and stick. Head is very unimpressive but you probably don't want a whole lot of head with a big session beer like this. Clear gold body. 4
Smell - That typical thin corny malt but also something a little more robust and sharper, like the faintest hints of dark fruit, atop floral notes. 4.25
Taste - Grainy, bitter, sweet. Thin honey aftertaste. 4.25
Mouthfeel - Light bodied. A little sharp up front, but smooths out. 4.25
Overall - Has a bit of a kick up front on the first sip, but mellows out pretty rapidly and is quite drinkable. No off notes except that bit of sharpness up front but all the other characteristics balance that out very nicely and actually it's kind of pleasant to have that sharpness as a balance to the drinkable mildness of everything else. 4.5

Dark, amber colored body; thick, frothy head. Bread-like aroma with touches of esters. Toasted bread flavors; slightly sweet but also a touch of tartness. Medium bodied yet seemingly a bit thin; smooth; warm.
A nice Oktoberfest that seems just a little under-powered for the style. Still, it delivers a nice warming, gentle malt quality with a gentle caramel flavor without too much alcohol presence and all delivered for a very nice price point.

19.2oz Stovepipe can, sample from the brewery.
Pours a deep reddish amber hue, just enough head and lacing to get by. Toasty malt aroma, bready with a clean grainy tone and some subtle herbal hop. Lush malt flavor, well balanced and semi-dry. Great use of malt here and easy to knock-back. That is pretty much all you want for this style of beer. Good job on this lager Upslope!

APPEARANCE: Right down the middle Amber in color. The head is large, stable and slightly more brown than an off-white color. The lacing is not as strong as expected, but forms neat, wide columns up and down the back side of the glass.
SMELL: Mildly sweet notes lie underneath a big, bready aroma.
TASTE: Delicate caramel notes provide the base while pleasant toasted malt notes round out the malt bill. Some light, noble hops provide a subtle bitterness to balance the subtle sweetness.
MOUTHFEEL: I love beers that can seem malty, yet remain dry at the same time, which is exactly what Upslope Oktoberfest does. The body is medium to light and the balance is absolutely gorgeous.
OVERALL: This is an incredibly easy beer to drink. It goes down easy, but still has plenty of character and flavor. I’d love to see this become a regular seasonal beer.

Well it only has four ingredients but it does pour a Beautiful color. nice light copper small amount of carbonation about 1 inch of bubbly slightly rocky head that takes its time dissipating. The nose is unnoticeable when poured into a pint glass. Well it has a very plain taste to it. Malt. Is not outstanding in any way.

Wow, great color. A very autumnal glowing amber-rubey orange. Perfect clarity and a giant, pillowy soft head, almost three fingers thick. A bit lively, some visible carbonation. Strong smells, I can already get whiffs from it sitting on my desk. Crisp, malty smells. Slightly toasted pale malts, crisp hops (Hallertau, per can). Straightforward, simple but good. Tastes bring warm malt-forward flavors, mellow and smooth. A nicely hopped finish. Nutty, maybe a touch of fruits, reminds me of caramel-dipped apples. Perfectly hopped, just the perfect amount of counterbalance to the prominent German malts. Creamy mouthfeel, with just the right amount of texture from carbonation. Great fall beer.
A very, very good Oktoberfest from the very, very good Upslope. Added bonus, the can is one of the handsomest I've ever seen. I wouldn't have even picked it up if the smart labeling hadn't caught my eye. Well played, Upslope.

Look: Two and a half fingers of nearly tan head with great retention. Deep Amber in color and partially opaque. Active carbonation.
Smell: Subtle metallic German hops. Sweet rich caramel malt develops into toffee as it warms.'
Taste: Rich toffee and caramel malt. Spicy and metallic hops. Good almond nuttiness. Subtle citrus. Lots of different things going on in this beer. Maybe even a little vanilla bean. Wow. A little barley aftertaste.
Feel: Perfect body. Awesome carbonation.
Overall: Excellent Marzen. One of my favorites I've had in a while. Totally worth picking up if you can find it. Let it warm up a little bit.

A clear burnt orange, poured from a 19.2oz can. A hit of toffee over dry grains in the aroma. The flavor open with caramel and spicy, mild hops. The hops build to a dry citrus rind, and then toasted malts pop up. Overall, very drinkable and a little hoppy for the style. I don't mind trading a little malt character (there's still a lovely range of barley character) for Noble hops. Cool beer.
